- The Washington Free Beacon reported that Rama Duwaji shared posts praising female Palestinian militants who took part in plane hijackings and bombings in the 1960s and early 1970s. One example is a September 2017 Tumblr photo of Leila Khaled, a PFLP leader who took part in two hijackings.
- In 2015 Rama Duwaji shared a post in which someone else wrote that Tel Aviv was occupying Palestinian land and “shouldn’t exist.”
- Rama Duwaji reportedly liked an Instagram post that appeared to cheer the Oct. 7, 2023 attack, and she provided an illustration for an essay by an author who called the attack “spectacular” and Jewish Israelis “rootless soulless ghouls.” The last claim matters most, because the author’s rhetoric is the antisemitic element. Mamdani’s office said she had never met or engaged with the author and had not seen the author’s earlier comments.
- August 2025: After an Israeli strike killed Gaza journalist Anas al-Sharif, Rama Duwaji shared an animation on Instagram with a chain around a quote, ending with a Palestinian flag and the words “end the genocide.” This is the clearest genocide accusation in her own voice.
- “Eyes on Jenin” (2025): Rama Duwaji’s animation linked police brutality against pro-Palestinian protesters to Israel’s genocide in Gaza. Israel’s Diaspora Affairs Ministry cited it, along with her likes, in its reported move to bar her from entering the country.
- The Free Press reported that she liked more than 70 Instagram posts with extreme anti-Israel content, including accusations of genocide and Holocaust inversion. One liked post called Sde Teiman, the Israeli prison at the center of abuse allegations, a “concentration camp.”
- Others accused Israel of a “vile land grab,” and called Biden “Butcher Biden” while accusing him of genocide.
- She also follows accounts such as her school’s Students for Justice in Palestine chapter and “Gaza_Shaheed.”
